The Lonnie Donegan Official Website
Lonnie Donegan MBE, the King Of Skiffle and 'first real British pop superstar' was born on 29 April 1931 and celebrated his 50th year in the music business in 2001. He shot to fame in 1956, when Rock Island Line sold an unprecedented 3 million copies, shooting into the British and American top ten. Britain had never heard anything like it and youngsters were hooked.

Doghouse Skiffle Group
For my money, this is the coolest skiffle band on the circuit today. Not just a great sound but 5 star entertainment live.
Billy Goat Gruff
Superb bluegrass band from the USA playing original material...and using a washboard. Their CD "Wild and Overgrown" is a must.
Vince Eager
Vince became a household name with over 100 TV appearances on shows such as Six Five Special, Oh Boy and Drumbeat. Vince released 14 singles and 5 albums. Many of today's compilation CD's feature Vince's 1959 - 61 recordings. Vince also played with Lonnie Donegan on his last ever show.

As in washboard, battered bull fiddle, unkelele, geetars and a whole stack of brand new hootenanny classics scraped, thumbed, twanged, crooned and yodelled by an up'n'coming combo by name Terry & Gerry.

Pete Kiwi Keegan
Pete 'Kiwi' Keegan is one of the only first generation musicians to perform 'skiffle' music in Nowich since he  was performing this  music when it first was played in London clubs and bars. His many memories and anecdotes form a regular part of his 'skiffle' nights.

The Quarrymen
On Saturday, July 6 1957 John Lennon and his band, the Quarrymen Skiffle Group, played at St. Peter's Church, Rose Queen Garden Fete in Woolton in the suburbs of Liverpool. Later that day he met Paul McCartney and the seeds of the greatest partnership in popular music were sown.

Chas McDevitt
One of the few groups to have come through both the jazz club and coffee bar environment, the Chas McDevitt Skiffle Group was the only other British skiffle group, along with Lonnie Donegan, to achieve success in the U.S.A.

Skiffle.net developed from the sides of the Hamburg Skiffle Festival and the old Boys Skiffle corporation. Skiffle and relatives handmade music is the topic. The Design is simple, in order to keep the load time short.

Neva River Rockets
Neva River Rockets hillbilly trio was formed in summer 2000. The line up initially was: Kirill Prasalov (lead guitar, vocals), Peter Mironov (upright bass) and Nicholai Potapov (drums). Before NRR its members had played in various jazz and rock bands and that defined the high professional level of the trio from the very start.
